Overseas Participants

Each year, between 40-50 overseas students attend the course, which is roughly 20% to 25% of the entire course composition. Learning through interaction amongst the students with varied experience from different countries constitutes a major component of the course objectives. Till today, 720 overseas students have attended the Staff College from countries like Bahrain, Brunei, Brazil, China, Egypt, France, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Kenya, Kuwait, Myanmar, Malaysia, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sudan, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Turkey, Thailand, UAE, United States of America, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

All overseas students are required to report to the College 15 days prior to the start of the course to attend a 2-week orientation programme. The aim of this pre-course training is to familiarize the overseas students with Bangladesh and prepare them for the following staff course. This includes presentations on Bangladesh, orientation with computer system, introduction to Bangla language, presentation on Bangladesh Armed Forces and para military forces, introduction to rules and conventions of service writing, briefing on analytical paper and visits to different places of interest around the capital.
